2. Should Chappie join forces with Ross and steal some videos from the bikers to sell them themselfs?
No, because this is a great danger as well if he doesn’t go to jail for getting cought he will surely get killed by the bikers if they find out that Chappie and Ross are stealing from them.
Well chappie now that is alone has to find out what is wrong from right by himself because he doesn’t have his mom anymore to show him that. ” My parents hadn’t tought me know I have to work it myself.”

Well in the story Chappie runs away from the guy he meet because he believed that he was going to do something to him but he leaves with 20 dollers the guy gave him so he hides after that he finds out he can go back so he moves back in with the bikers and Ross. Then he meets this guy Joker wich has some guns a 38 and a 44 Magnum wich he takes care more than his bike.
Did he do the right thing when he left running from the guy that had the little girl?
Yes, becasue he didn’t know what was going to happen. But he should of left him the 20 dollers so the guy didn’t follow him luckly he got away but if not something else would of happen.
Do you think Joker is a good guy?
No, because he has gun and if one day he gets high or drunk and don’t remember anyone he might just shoot someone and then he will get in real trouble.
Chappie finds himself running away with his fear and leaving the little girl and he feels bad about it because he tought he was going to be brave enough to save the girl but his fear beats him and he leaves her. ” I felt incredibly sad then. I felt guilty too because of losing my courage and deciding not to take her place.”

Well right know is that he tried to win his mom and stepfather back by buying them something for christmas but he ends up stealing what he wanted and he gets cought. He ends up in the mall because he gets kicked out of the place he was living with Ross and he meets these strange guy and girl that end up buying him something to eat.
Was buying his parents something make them forget what he did?
No, because the pain of him stealing from them was going to be there and know they would be on him 24/7 because the trust they gave him got lost after what he did.
Did he do the right thing in following the two people he was curios about?
Yes, he did the right thing because he ended up eating something thanks to the guy. If he would of gone somewere else the security Bart would of gotten him again and this time really bust him.
Chappie is invisible in the eyes of others for the way he dresses and because of the pearcings he has in his face. “When I started to move off they come out and the guy gives me this long stare, like what the hell are you? He doesn’t say anything but it’s like he’s never seen a kid with a mohawk or nose ring before wich is probably true for Canadians.”

Why does chappie smoke weed?
Chappie smokes weed because it takes his self-esteam away, he forgets about the problems he has and it makes him feel better.
Did Chappie do the right thing when he stole the coins?
Chappie didn’t do the right thing because he stole something that was valueable to his mom.
Chappie is a kid that likes to smoke weed and get out of school early because he things is a cool thing to do. He ends up stealing some coins from his mom wich he tought it was his step-father’s coins. He does this because he wants to smoke weed but he didn’t have money to buy some. “This one afternoon i came from school …. I was taking a look in to thier bedroom closet…two black breifcases that i’d never seen before…Then i reamembered the other briefcase and went b ack to the closet and sad down and opened it. Inside are all these baggies, thirty or forty of them filled with coins” ” A little smoke though and all that irritation and neveousness and my wicked low self-esteem immediately went away. They say weed makes you paranoid but for me is was the opposite.

Are the boys good?
The boys are good they don’t cause trouble they just go to the park to play. It doesn’t matter if they talk smack or if they talk about a gilr in a natural way thats part of life.
Did the narrator do the right thing? Explain
No because he dshould of help his friends instead of leaving them there alone.
I think that they kid is a person that just cares about himself and that he is the only good thing and noone else is better than him. ” There was only one kid I ever cared for and his name wasn’t chuckie. it wasn’t any of these guys.” This shows that he doesn’t care about anyone else.

Latino Film Festival
Yesterday’s movie was good and I loved it because they didn’t in a cartoon form so that little kids would like it. This movie was made for both adults and kids and that is good because that way a family can go with thinking that they will get board. I didn’t learn a lot because this story was told to me when I was young since I was born in Oaxaca, Mexico were these legends are said to be true. The overall experience was good because it’s been a long time since I have seen a movie that makes me laugh and get scared at the same time. It was worthwhile going and not being in class I thought it was going to be a movie about a documentary but I got surprised when I saw it was going to be a cartoon. I’m planning on going in the future with my parents because they like those kinds of movies and will also take my little cousins with me. I’m taking them because they are little and I know they will like it and have fun.
Thomas’ stories
It’s about how victors dad just wants to ride away to hide of his past.
To tell victor that he needs to understand his father and not judge him.
That victor has a hard feeling for his dad and that Thomas is trying to change that because he thinks he knew Victor’s dad.
That the Indians in the reservation like to help their people to forget hard feelings.
That they both want to be warrior but can’t be like the ones in the old times.
The purpose of this story is to show that anyone can be a warrior.
That they both want to become warriors but they have to do it in the new way.
That Indians in the reservation like brave warriors that do what has to be done to be one.
How victor’s dad came and took care of Thomas
The purpose is to show that you have to take care of those you love
That Thomas had better memories then the ones Victor had
That the reservation wasn’t that far from the city. That the Indians could get out of the reservation.
About how everyone can do something to change the world
To make us understand that what we do or can do may change the world someday.
That Thomas knows that his stories may or may not change the world but he never gives up.
Well that the native Americans believe that they have the power to change the world someday.
That Thomas will travel to the last place he saw victor’s dad and let him free into the water and air.
That even after we die we will be remembered and that our loves one will let us be free and forget our sins.
That both of them loved Victor’s dad and they want him to be free and live with the gods.
That they believe that after their dead and being burn they should be set free to live with the god and he will be seen for the last time as an animal.
Native American vs. European Perspectives
| The People: Way of Life | Europeans: Way of Life | ||
| 1. Present Oriented: Focused on what is happening right now—daily life and living in the moment. | 1. Future OrientedSet goals for th future. Puts off the pleasures of today for benefits in the future. | ||
| I agree with the Europeans because you have to be ready for what will happen tomorrow.Well if you live in the moment you might loose all your money and if you live by looking for what you might need tomorrow you will keep that money and just waist it in what you need.Well if you live for the moment you won’t think about tomorrow and if you do that you might do something dumb and regretted later. But if all you do is think in the future you might miss something exciting and when you find out or want to do it is too late.Well Native Americans like to with out anyone telling them how to. The Europeans are going to try and tell them how to so that the next day they will have what they need and not suffer. | |||
| 2. Not Time Conscious In olden times, most tribes did not have a word for time, because time was relative. It is the month to pick berries. When the sun comes up. | 2. Very Time Conscious Very time conscious with clocks, watches, and certain amounts of time set aside for each task or job. | ||
| Well I go with the Europeans way of keeping track of time because that way you know what time it is and not worry that you are going to do you job or something else to late. Well if you are lazy you will do what you need to do when you feel like but you won’t know if you doing at the right time maybe is to late or to early. If you do it the European way you will know when the right time is and not worry and later on you will have time to go play and not do you job in a hurry. Well a problem with not having time is that you don’t know if you doing something in the right time or if you doing it at the wrong time. Know having time also is bad because you sometime don’t have time to have fun because the schedule is full of work and you didn’t make time to have fun. Well since Native Americans like to take their time when they worked and they also liked to have a lot of fun and the Europeans like to do things quick and fast and do a lot of work so the next day or later that day you could have fun they both disagreed and there is when problems might of started. | |||
| 3. Giving A respected person is one who gives. A person who hoards is watched with distrust. (European proverb: It is better to give than to receive.) | 3. Saving A respected person is someone who saves. Even education is an investment in the future. (European proverb: A penny saved is a penny earned.) | ||
| I agree with saving because you have to save every little thing because you never know when you might need it. Well I you save you will have what you need later on with out worrying about asking others if they can help you. Giving is also good because if you give to others the community sees you as a giver and not a taker they will show you more respect and appreciate whatever you do. Well giving a lot can take away from you and sometimes you might not be able to give because you need what you were about to give to others. Saving alto is also bad because when you see how much you have saved you will try to waste it all in on day. Well since the Europeans liked to keep everything they had and never gave nothing back to the Indians after they gave something to them the Indians saw them ass greedy and non-giving. | |||
| 4. Cooperation Cooperation is healthy and essential. Anyone who tries to stand out is showing off. They believe in team effort. There was some competition. | 4. Competition Competition is healthy and essential. You do not have to win but you must try to achieve first place. There was some cooperation. | ||
| I agree with both because you need both to make it in this world having the mind of being first but you also need to do with team work. Well when you work as a team you can accomplish more things and when you play as a competitor you always have the mind of a winner and that is good. Working as a team can be bad sometimes because you might get mad at a teammate and when you play competitive you might lose focus of what you want and end up messing everything up. Well Europeans like to be competitive and Native Americans like to do things as a team and that split the differences in both of them. | |||
| 5. Harmony with Nature Accepts nature. They do not try to change it. If a log falls across a creek, no one moves it. The creek path might change, but that is harmony. Farmers did plant seed and irrigate their crops, but these are exceptions. | 5. Conquest over Nature Controls nature by building dams and power plants. There are preserves set aside where land, plant, and animal life are in their natural state, but these are exceptions. | ||
| I like the Native American way of life which is Harmony and Nature because maybe that way our Earth could be cleaner. Well because of doing everything in harmony and nature you won’t destroy nature with a lot of pollution. But doing everything in conquest over nature you will be industrialize and have light, cars, and malls. Well one problem with harmony and nature is that you won’t have things that will help you to do a job quicker and you won’t be industrialize. Now doing everything conquest over nature you will pollute the earth and destroy it. Well because Europeans wanted to do thing their way and mess around with nature the native Americans got mad and they decided that the best thing was to go to war with them. | |||
Banned Book Week
The firs amendment is connected to the banning of books by, “CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF THE PRESS; OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE PEACEABLY TO ASSEMBLE, AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES.” Well I do because it says that we are free to say what we want in the constitution but really when we want to say something or read something they try to keep you quiet or keep you from reading it because they know is going to damage they way we look at the government. The difference between a challenge and a banning is that a challenge means to remove or restrict a book from the library or the school curriculum. A banning mean removing something for good from every place and from everyone. The ALA is a group that challenges most books often. I think they do this because they might have something to do with the government and they get paid to challenge books that they know are going to screw the government over. 3 main reasons people challenge and/or ban books:• Occult theme or promoting the occult or Satanism• Promoting homosexuality• RacismI have read of these authors that have been challenged, Scary Stories (Series) by Alvin SchwartzGoosebumps (Series) by R.L. Stine.Title 1: Scary StoriesWhy you think it was challenged: Because it talks about how things get moved and kind of make you thing that it had something to do with the devil.Do you agree? Explain: I don’t because well that is what makes the book interesting and well that is something kids these days like to read. Title 2: GoosebumpsWhy you think it was challenged: This book also got challenge because it has horror in it. It talks about mockingbirds killing or big monsters coming out of nowhere and murdering families and people.Do you agree? Explain: I don’t agree because these books are cool and they get you excited because you want to know what is going to happen next in the story. Well I wouldn’t choose any book because well they all talk about the truth and we can’t hid from that even if we try too.
